Here's the All-In-One Wedding Invitation -- Without Envelopes! (2024)

What are all-in-one wedding invitations and why should you consider them? Today we’ll tackle the topic thanks to bride-to-be, Vanessa, who writes us with this question:

“Hi Emmaline! I like the idea of a wedding invitation that doesn’t require an envelope. I’ve heard about all-in-one wedding invitations but can you give me more info on it? Is it formal enough to send for my traditional/classic wedding? Thank you!”

Hi Vanessa! Great question. Many couples look to an all-in-one invitation without envelopes to save money, paper, and time. In addition, it’s a fun twist on the same old style you’ve seen on invitations for years and years.

Here’s an animation so you can see this wedding invitation in action: notice there’s no outer envelope, as the invite folds into itself. ↓

Here are some benefits of this popular wedding invitation without envelopes.

What is an all-in-one wedding invitation?

An all-in-one wedding invitation includes every component of the wedding invite — just without inner or outer envelopes. It’s a cool idea, really.

This invitation is designed to fold into itself, creating its very own outer “envelope” for addressing. It easily opens up to reveal the invitation and a response card, all in one. In this way, you’re saving money and paper on extra envelopes you no longer need.

In addition, the RSVP card is included on the invitation with a clever perforation, so guests detach the RSVP card and place it in the mail (with your postage pre-added, of course). As another benefit, the RSVP card is a postcard so you pay less in postage and you do not need to use an envelope to mail it out.

Brilliant.

Some couples wonder if all-in-one wedding invitations are not “formal” enough, but that is not the case. If you like the idea of saving money and paper on invitations without envelopes, I encourage you to go for it! There are formal styles, fun styles, laid-back, classic, and more to suit your event. These invitations are smart, and I wish they were available when I married. :)

Wedding Invitations Without Envelopes

Here is an example of an invitation that includes everything attached. It is by Susan Moyal and features gold foil and a beautiful floral design. The invite folds into itself, providing its very own envelope, and there is an RSVP card that detaches. The card is a postcard, so you do not need an envelope for it, either!

How to Save Money with All-In-One Wedding Invitation

Here’s how you’ll save money and paper when you select all-in-one wedding invitations vs. traditional invites.

No outer and inner envelopes: you do not need an outer or inner envelope

No RSVP card envelope: furthermore, no envelope is required to mail the postcard-style response card

Cheaper postage on the response card: standard postage is currently $0.60 per stamp. You normally would need to add this stamp to the outside of the invitation AND on the RSVP card envelope as a courtesy to guests. Instead, you’ll only need the postage on the outside of the card and a $0.44 postage stamp. That may not seem like a lot, but it is a savings of $0.16 per invitation you mail out, which can add up quickly. For 200 wedding invitations, that’s a savings of $32 you would otherwise throw out the window!

No addressing by hand: if you purchase all-in-one wedding invitations from Minted, you get free addressing on your invitations, so you won’t need to do them all by hand.

You do not need to choose just one standard invitation style, either! Thankfully, there are many designs from which to choose and plenty of them are formal enough for your wedding. If someone is planning a laid-back wedding, they’ll be happy to know there are casual all-in-one wedding invitations, too. You can browse them all here.
