    Hi Aarthi,

Baking for a minute would mean in " convention mode " right?
    If so at what temp?

    Thanks.

I used exactly same measurements but the mixture was wet enough. So I added around 3 tsp more maida to make dough out of it. The cookies got baked but now after cooling, they have become hard. Could you tell me what could be the issue?

@AnonymousYou should not add too much flour, just bake it as it is it will give you good results.

    Hi Aarthi,

your recipe seemed rreally good and simple so i tried it. i'm not muh of a baker but have started off late and have 2 limitations, i cant bake with egg and i only have a microwave.
Anyway so that attracted me to your recipe for this festive season, so i put together the ingredients as per the recipe but the dough wouldnt hold, it was like a thicker cake batter consistency so i added more maida (dont know exact amount, just kept adding till i got the dough consistency as per your pix). And then i baked them, but :
    a. some of them got burnt slightly
    b. all of them gott really hard after cooling and are inedible 🙁

Please guide me n how to get the right crumbly cookie texture.

And i must say great job for sharing these innovative recipes. (esp for someone like me who is a not much into cooking and baking) Thanks !

  25. Aarthi

@AnonymousI think u must have added too much butter or milk so it has got wet. Use just the exact amount and it will work.

    Reply

  26. Sumi

    @Anonymous

The reason for it getting burnt may me because of the combination of milk, sugar and butter in which you have to be judicious if your batter does not come out as per the consistency shown in the picture. The best is to follow the dry ingredients and wet ingredients procedure.
Sieve the powdered sugar, add the melted butter and milk in the bowl. Similarly,in another, sieve the other dry ingredients like the flour, cocoa in another.
Then gradually add the wet mixture to the powders and prepare the dough to get the required consistency before making it into to the cookie. Adjustments can be made here by lessening wetness by retaining the last few drops of the wet mix in the 1st bowl or adding a shake of flour to increase dryness.
    Hope it helps!

Tried this today. The first one got burnt in the center after 1min in microwave. Smoke was coming out from microwave oven. And I couldn’t really remove it from the mug. The 2nd one was still soft after 1min in microwave so I microwaved it a little longer. Was soft and I did it a little longer. Center part still gets stuck to the bowl. Any idea? Issit over or under greasing OR due to timing? Same mix for both cookies. Btw thanks for this recipe.

FAQs

Can I bake my cookies in the microwave? ›

If using the microwave: put each cookie on its own parchment-lined or well-greased plate so they won't run together. Press in a few more chips if desired for presentation. Microwave each cookie for about 40 seconds. Cooking time will vary depending on your microwave's wattage.

Can you make cookie dough in the microwave? ›

Shape the Cookie: Take a small portion of the cookie dough and shape it into a cookie-sized disk or ball. Place it on a microwave-safe plate lined with parchment paper or a microwave-safe paper towel. Microwave Time: Microwave the cookie dough for about 45 seconds to 1 minute, depending on your microw.

Can you bake cookies without oven? ›

You can whip up cookies in a jiff using a non-stick griddle. Heat your griddle to between medium-low and medium heat; if it's too hot, the outside of the cookie will burn before the inside has a chance to cook. Portion out a tablespoon of cookie dough for each cookie you're making.

Can you bake cookies in air fryer? ›

A basic chocolate chip cookie will bake at 350°F for five minutes and comes out just right. However, you can make most cookies in the air fryer. When air frying, reduce the heat on the machine by about 25°F (so if a cookie recipe calls for 350°F in a conventional oven, set it to about 325°). It's super easy to adjust.

Is microwaving cookies good? ›

I tried making chocolate-chip cookies using 3 different appliances: microwave, air fryer, and oven. Though the microwave method was the fastest and easiest, the best results came from the oven. The winning cookies had a crunchy, golden-brown exterior, with a dense, chewy center.

Can you put Pillsbury cookie dough in the microwave? ›

The Pillsbury cookie should only be in the microwave for 25-30 seconds. Any longer and the cookie burns, any shorter and it probably won't be cooked. It will be very hot, and some strange smelling vapor may escape the microwave, but I'm pretty sure it's fine.

How long to cook Pillsbury cookies in the microwave? ›

Place up to 4 cookies on microwavable plate. Do not heat cookies in package. 2. Microwave on HIGH 10 seconds.

Can we bake cookies in microwave oven without convection? ›

Can a microwave be used as an oven. The simple answer is yes. You can use your microwave as an oven, but it has to be a convection microwave. A microwave with a convection mode functions like any regular oven and can be used to bake bread, cakes, cookies, or anything else you would want to bake.

What is the best way to bake without oven? ›

If the oven isn't an option, you can use your cooktop to help you prepare meals. Using appropriate cookware suitable for stovetop cooking, such as a cast-iron skillet, dutch oven or something similar, you can get oven-like results for dishes like lasagnas, casseroles and even baked items.

Is it better to bake cookies with or without parchment paper? ›

Using parchment paper for baking cookies will enable them to bake more evenly, and the non-stick quality will also help prevent them from cracking or breaking when lifting them off the sheet.

Can i put pillsbury cookie dough in air fryer? ›

Preheat your air fryer to 330°F for about 5 minutes. Take the Pillsbury refrigerated cookie dough and roll it into balls. Place the balls of cookie dough in the air fryer basket, making sure to leave some space between each cookie. Cook the cookies in the air fryer for 8-10 minutes or until they are golden brown.

Is it better to bake cookies in the oven or air fryer? ›

The air-fried cookies weren't as round and flat as the oven-baked version but they were slightly chunkier and toastier, which I preferred. They had similar crispy outer layers like the oven-baked cookies and I was a huge fan. The air fryer made the cookies perfectly crisp with a golden-brown, crunchy outer layer.

Is it better to bake or air fry cookies? ›

Air-fryer cookies have a considerably crispier profile than your average oven-baked cookie, with a well-browned exterior, without compromising the soft, gooey center we all love about a decadently chunky cookie.

Will microwaving cookies make them soft? ›

Just wrap a cookie or two in a damp paper towel and then put them in the microwave for about 10 to 15 seconds. The moisture from the paper towel should soften the cookies right up. So if you wonder how to soften hard cookies quickly? Microwave is the way!

Can you microwave cookie dough to soften it? ›

Microwave it cautiously: If you're in a hurry, you can use the microwave to soften the dough, but be cautious to avoid overheating it. Place the dough in a microwave-safe bowl and heat it on the lowest setting in short intervals. Check the dough after each interval and gently knead it to distribute the heat evenly.
